Fees and Insurance

tree

My fees are comparable to other Licensed Clinical Psychologists in the San Francisco Bay Area. I accept clients who pay privately or “out-of-pocket” and also clients who wish to use their insurance.

I am an “In-Network” provider for Aetna, Medicare, and UCB SHIP Insurance Plans. With these insurance plans, you will only be responsible for paying any co-pay that may be due. Co-pays generally range from $5 to $60 per session depending on your insurance and the particular plan.

If you have a different type of insurance other than those listed above, please contact your insurance company directly to inquire about the reimbursement plan on your policy for “Out-Of-Network” providers for mental health care. Generally, if there is a benefit on your plan for this, you would pay me directly for the full session fee and then submit a statement –which I will prepare for you– to your insurance company. Generally, a percentage of the session fee is reimbursed to you, and although it varies, it can be up to 80% of the hourly rate.

At times, I am able to offer a few reduced fee or sliding scale appointments based on financial need and current circumstances. If you are interested in starting therapy and need a reduced fee, I would be glad to talk with you about what may be possible. If I do not have any lower fee openings, I’d be glad to make a recommendation to another provider or clinic in the area who may be able to accommodate you. Some reduced fee clinics to consider in the San Francisco Bay Area are: The Wright Institute Clinic in Berkeley (510) 548-9716 and Access Institute for Psychological Services in San Francisco (415) 861-5449.

If you have additional questions, feel free to contact me.
